hmm the konan's hair looks a bit flat...and try to use some different colours for the blue papers, if u must have blue paper (s.o. did the whole pic without blue papar, search in the forum...).....
and you're right the speedlines suck^^

Hmm...lets see where we can go with this...

Alright so i really like the feel and texture i get from her coat. It has that MIB/Matrix feel to it, you know, agent-like. But its nice. The wings however...I know each artist is entitled to their own style and their own way of intepreting a pic, but i think it might have been a bad turn on your part. I like the idea that you're coloring the paper in different colors but...hmmm...

Background is done nicely. You have the right idea again with how the pipes should look. Try this: Make the darker parts of the pipe darker and the lighter parts..well..lighter (i.e make the contrast between light and dark higher) you'd be suprised at how it'll suddenly seem to pop off the page, making the background ultracool

Speed lines - I like the way you've done them, but i dont particularly like the colors...also, contrast people!! Its kinda hard to see the shadows on konan's face. Here's a tip - You've done the actual positioning of shadows on her face nicely, do the same for her hair, her cloak, and just about the rest of the picture. DONT BE LAZY ON THE SHADOWS!!

Thats all for now, make some changes, finish the pic and post back here and let us see

lol. i hated the speed lines, rushed it too much. just put a ton of lines in and smudged them. i like the effect it gives of though, makes you focus more on the character.

As for the papers... i thought it would look cool if they stayed the same colour from where they came off her hence the black(coat) blue (hair) and the skin coloured (dont think i got around to shading them yet) papers, maybe i should position where the different colours go, just put them in randomly.

Oh and i hadnt got around to finishing the hair havnt put the shadowing or lighting in most parts of the pics yet.

Might take a little longer to finish as i just went and got a graphire 4 today. feels kinda weird but ill get used to it.

ahh you got a graphire! good well, maybe you should practice on a different pic all together with the graphire. That way

a) You can have a 'first pic done with a graphire' kinda thing.

b) Gain experience in using the tablet

c) When you become the graphire master, you will probably feel like utterly destroying the first pic and starting over. Either way, its up to you. (btw if u use it for ordinary stuff, like mouse selection work, u'll get used to it much faster )

oh yeah i also just got my tablet (bamboo) and first i could not do anything with it cuz i was used to the typical mouse movements....but i feel like i'm getting used to it cuz i dont use my mouse anymore....

ah god... what a week, fucking power supply went in my good comp no games or colouring for a week. net comps too week to colour with....all's good now though new power supply and some new art.

the swirl thing is coloured ( its meant to be white) , the shade probably isnt dark enough.. and the hair is meant to be like that though ive been thinking about changing it.

lol, lots of free time today. halfway through next pic already, using a tablet makes things so much easier, and faster!
